Thanks for the reply. Alas I suppose I'm committed to the iPhone at this point, and the lack of that feature is not a deal breaker by any means. But I do hope it's something that a future OS release supports.

Hi Michael, HTC has your dream feature exactly in their new and upcoming phones. I just compiled a list of coverflow clones floating around the web and mobile interfaces on my blog.
I hope Apple builds on this idea.
